Static vs dynamic QR codes
A static QR code contains your data directly. It works offline, forever, and nobody can switch it off. A dynamic QR code contains a short link to a company's server, which then redirects to your link. That lets them track scans, but if you stop paying (or the company shuts down) every printed code breaks. For menus, posters, business cards and Wi-Fi, static codes are the safer choice.
Printing tips
- Print at least 2 × 2 cm; larger if people will scan from far away (size ≈ distance ÷ 10).
- Keep a quiet zone (white border) around the code, and keep the foreground dark on a light background.
- Always test-scan the final print with two different phones.
How to use the QR Code Generator tool
- Choose the type: link, text, Wi-Fi, contact card, email, phone or SMS.
- Fill in the details.
- Optionally pick colours, error correction and add a logo.
- Download PNG or SVG, and test it with your phone camera.
Why SaralKit?
- Free forever: no "credits", no trial, no premium tier, no watermark and no daily limit.
- No account, ever: nothing to sign up for. Just open the page and use it.
- No data stored: your files and the numbers you type are processed by your own browser. We never upload, store or see them.
- Works offline: once the page has loaded, most tools keep working without internet.
- Open source: anyone can read the code on GitHub.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
Never. These are static QR codes: the link or text is stored inside the code itself, so it works forever without our website. Many "free" generators create dynamic codes that redirect through their servers and stop working when a trial ends.
Is there any tracking?
No. Scans go straight to your link. We cannot see or count them, and we never see what you encode.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Upload a logo and it is placed in the centre. Error correction switches to "High" automatically so the code still scans. Test it with your phone before printing.
Which format should I download?
SVG for printing (it scales to any size without blurring), PNG for websites, WhatsApp and documents.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password. Guests can scan it with their phone camera to join without typing.
