Frequently asked questions

How do I write an amount in words for a cheque?

Type the amount and choose Indian (lakh, crore) and Rupees. For example, 125000 becomes "Rupees One Lakh Twenty-Five Thousand Only". Write "Only" at the end so nothing can be added.

What is the difference between lakh/crore and million?

1 lakh = 100,000 (1,00,000); 10 lakh = 1 million; 1 crore = 10 million (1,00,00,000); 100 crore = 1 billion.

Does it handle paise?

Yes. 1250.50 becomes "Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty and Fifty Paise Only".
